The 2019 edition of The Players Championship tees off on Thursday, March 14 in Ponde Vedra Beach, Florida. It’s the third stop on the PGA Tour’s annual Florida Swing.
Contested at at TPC Sawgrass’ Stadium Course, the PLAYERS field features all 50 of the top-50 ranked players in the world, including two-time winner Tiger Woods (No. 11), who will be paired with 2018 PLAYERS winner Webb Simpson and reigning Masters champion Patrick Reed in the opening two rounds.
In another featured group, Francesco Molinari – last week’s winner, will tee it up with 2016 PLAYERS champ Jason Day and Tony Finau, while 2015 PLAYERS winner Rickie Fowler will be joined by three-time major winners Brooks Koepka and Jordan Spieth in a third marquee trio.
World No. 1 Dustin Johnson will play with a pair of superstar Spaniards in Jon Rahm and Sergio Garcia, while world Nos. 2 and 4, Justin Rose and Justin Thomas, respectively, will tee it up with Xander Schauffele, who leads the FedExCup race.
With 144 players in the field, tee times for the opening two rounds will be in two waves (morning and afternoon) and from both sets of tees.
