The PGA Championship tees off this week at the famed Ocean Course at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort. It’s the fourth major, and sixth flagship event, of the 2020-21 “Super Season” – the tagline coined by the PGA Tour.

As we look to risk our money this week, it’s important to know a players’ recent form but it’s also beneficial to understand who’s performed best on the biggest stages this season.

As we say, “The checks from tour events build bank accounts. The trophies from major championships build legacies.”

Thus far we’ve played the 2020 U.S. Open, 2020 Masters, 2021 WGC, 2021 Players, and the 2021 Masters. (*Note: We are only including the stroke-play WGC event. But Billy Horschel does get credit for his win at the Match Play tournament.)

Justin Thomas is far and away the best player of the “Super Season.” JT, who is one of seven players to make every cut, owns a big win at the Players, and two additional top 10s. Even his worst showing is a top 25 which could have been so much better if not for a rain suspension on Saturday at the Masters.

Bryson DeChambeau has also made every cut to go along with a win and top-3 finish.

Jon Rahm is easily the best player without a win in this super series, which sort of matches his career. Patrick Reed, too, has had an impressive super season with two top 10s, a top 20, and top 25.
