To remain eligible for next year’s Ryder Cup, LIV Golf’s Jon Rahm intends to tee it up in a trio of European tour (DP World Tour) events this fall.
Rahm is already signed up for this month’s Spanish Open (Sep. 26-29), a tournament he’s won three times.
The 29-year-old Spaniard is not sure if he’ll be permitted to play, though, since he’s balked at paying any fines related to joining LIV Golf.
“Well, I’m entered into the tournament,” said Rahm at a press conference at Bolingbrook Golf Club, ahead of this week’s LIV Golf Chicago event.
“We entered a long time ago. Whether they let me play or not is a different thing. I’m not a big fan of the fines. I think I’ve been outspoken about that. I don’t intend to pay the fines, and we keep trying to have a discussion with them about how we can make this happen.”
