Jon Rahm carded a final-round 2-under 69 to claim a one-shot victory at the 2022 Mexico Open.
The 27-year old Spaniard finished his final day at Vidanta Vallarta with one bogey offset by three birdies, including a late gain on the par-5 14th hole, to reach 17-under par – one better than Brandon Wu (63), Tony Finau (63) and Kurt Kitayama (68).
For his first win of the 2022 season, Rahm earned $1,314,000 and 500 FedExCup points. He will move to No. 9 on the PGA Tour’s money list and sixth in the FedExCup standings. He also picked up 32 Official World Golf Ranking points to strentgthen his hold on the second spot behind Scottie Scheffler.
