On Sunday at Wilmington Country Club, Patrick Cantlay shot a final-round 2-under 69 to successfully defend his 2021 title at the BMW Championship.
The 30-year-old California native entered Sunday’s finale with a one shot lead over Scott Stallings (69), and after 18 additional holes, that’s where it ended.
For his second PGA Tour victory of the 2022 season, Cantlay earned $2,700,000 and 2,000 FedExCup points. He will move to No. 2 in the FedExCup standings and eighth on the money list. He also picked up 50 Official World Golf Ranking points and is expected to move into the top 3 for the first time in his career.
For his second-place finish, Stallings earned $1,620,000 and 1,200 FedExCup points to gain a spot in the field at East Lake for the first time in his career. He also secured 30 world-ranking points to crack the top 100 for the first time since 2015.
