On Sunday at the 3M Open, Tony Finau shot a 67 at TPC Twin Cities and was essentially handed a three-shot victory on a silver platter.

Down five shots with 11 to play, Finau went 2-under par during this stretch, yet somehow won by three shots.

How the heck did this happen? The leader absolutely collapsed: old friend Scott Piercy, the leader through about 65 holes, played his final 11 holes to a mind boggling 7-over par (six bogeys, two birdies, two pars and one triple bogey), falling from solo first (-20) to T4 on 13 under.

Emiliano Grillo, who was the closest chaser and ahead of Finau, also carded a triple and two bogeys during this stretch.

On his day, Finau signed for a card comprised of two bogeys against six birdies to reach 17-under par for the tournament.

With the win, the 32-year-old Utah native earned $1,350,000 and 500 FedExCup points. He will move to 17th in the points race and jump to 21st on the money list. He also picked up 26 OWGR points and will move up a spot, from 17 to 16.
