On Sunday, Rory McIlroy relied on superb power game, and some clutch putting to shoot a final-round 70 and claim his first PGA Tour title of the season at The PLAYERS Championship.
McIlroy, playing in the penultimate group alongside Jason Day, finished with two bogeys and a double against nine pars and six birdies, highlighted by two consecutive gains on Nos. 15 and 16 to reach 16-under par, edging Jim Furyk by one stroke.
The 29-year old Northern Irishman won his 15th PGA Tour title playing a full bag of Taylormade.
