Tiger Woods opened the Arnold Palmer Invitational with a 4-under 68 and got into the clubhouse near the top of he leaderboard at Bay Hill.
Woods finished his first day at Arnold’s House with just one blemish (a double bogey) against a six-pack of birdies, highlighted by a 71-foot bomb on the par-3 7th hole (his 16th). He also made gains on each of the par 5s.
“It was a good round today. It was awfully cold this morning… But felt good,” said Woods, immediately following his round.
Woods is seeking his ninth title at Bay Hill, and career win No. 80. Sam Snead owns the all-time record with 82, although five of his victories came by the way of four-ball matches (twosomes).
