The PGA Tour, Zurich Insurance, and the Fore!Kids Foundation announced a multi-year extension of Zurich’s title sponsorship of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, ensuring the event’s place on the PGA Tour calendar through 2030. The announcement, made on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at TPC Louisiana, marks a continuation of a partnership that began in 2005 and underscores Zurich’s deep commitment to the New Orleans community.
The Zurich Classic, the PGA Tour’s only FedExCup team event, has been a staple of the spring schedule since transitioning to its unique two-man team format in 2017. Held at the Pete Dye-designed TPC Louisiana, the tournament has become a fan favorite, drawing top talent like defending champions Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry, who will return to compete in the 2025 event starting Thursday, April 24. The field also includes Zurich Golf Ambassadors Billy Horschel, Sahith Theegala, and Collin Morikawa, with the tournament set to be broadcast on CBS/Paramount+, GOLF Channel, PGA Tour LIVE on ESPN+, SiriusXM, and the Tour’s World Feed.
“After celebrating 20 years of title sponsorship just one year ago, the PGA Tour is thrilled to extend our partnership with Zurich Insurance and the Zurich Classic of New Orleans with its unique team format that fans have embraced,” said PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan.
“Throughout New Orleans and the State of Louisiana, Zurich has become synonymous with the definition of a good corporate citizen through the significant economic and charitable impact created in the community. It’s a true success story.”

Zurich’s involvement with the tournament began just months before Hurricane Katrina devastated the region in 2005. The company played a pivotal role in the city’s recovery, with the Zurich Classic becoming the first major sporting event to commit to returning to New Orleans in 2006. Since then, the event has raised over $30 million for local charities, including a record $3.3 million in 2024 for organizations like St. Michael Special School and Blessings in a Backpack. Zurich also pledged an additional $25,000 to First Tee of Greater New Orleans and $50,000 to the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music to support youth education and community programs.
“We’re excited to extend our partnership with the PGA Tour, the Fore!Kids Foundation, and the city of New Orleans. Our connection to this resilient city runs deep, and the Zurich Classic of New Orleans has supported that resilience over the past two decades,” said Kristof Terryn, Zurich CEO of North America.
“As the only team event on the PGA TOUR, the Zurich Classic lets players compete alongside family and friends. Just like golfers adapt and leverage strengths, we do the same as a leading insurer, helping our customers meet tomorrow prepared.”
The extension aligns with the remaining years of the PGA Tour’s television broadcast rights contracts, securing the event’s financial stability. The Zurich Classic has generated over $700 million in economic impact for New Orleans since its inception, and the team format has elevated its appeal, attracting players like McIlroy, who may not have participated in an individual event, according to Zurich ambassador Billy Horschel.
Mark Romig, board chairman of the Fore!Kids Foundation, expressed gratitude for Zurich’s ongoing support.
“For more than 20 years, our foundation has been privileged to experience Zurich’s inspiring commitment to our community and region,” Romig said. “With their support, these organizations work tirelessly to build a better future for children across the region.”
As the 2025 Zurich Classic kicks off, the extension through 2030 ensures that New Orleans will continue to host this vibrant celebration of golf, community, and resilience for years to come.
