After another wild week in Australia, the LIV Golf League continues its international swing with a second annual stop in Singapore.

The marquee names headlining the LIV Golf Singapore event are major champions Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, Bubba Watson, Phil Mickelson, Bryson Dechambeau, Patrick Reed, and Cameron Smith, among others.

The LIV Golf Format

The LIV Golf League 2024 features 13 teams comprised of four players, along with two wild card players. In total, 54 players will compete over a 14-event schedule, with players and teams competing simultaneously for both points and prize money.

Tournaments consist of 54-hole stroke play, no cuts and shotgun start, ensuring a faster and more exciting pace of play.

Captains: Each team has a captain while members of the four-player teams, including the captain, participate in the three-day tournament.

Individual Winner: The player with the lowest 54-hole stroke play total is the tournament winner. The event’s champion receives $4m in prize money along with 40 rankings points. At the conclusion of LIV Golf Chicago – the 2024 Individual Championship, the player with the most ranking points becomes the season’s Individual Champion.

Team Competition: After each of the first two rounds, the best three scores count to produce a team score. In the final round, all four scores count. The lowest overall team score after 54 holes is the team winner. The final event of the season is the team championship.

LIV Golf Singapore Storylines

• LIV Golf returns to Singapore for the second consecutive season, with this week’s tournament marking the end of the first half of the 14-tournament schedule in 2024.
• The all-Australian Ripper GC enters this week after winning in front of their home fans in Adelaide by beating Stinger GC in LIV Golf’s first-ever team playoff.
• HyFlyers GC’s Brendan Steele won the individual title in Adelaide, giving his team its first trophy of any kind.
• Steele is the third consecutive first-time LIV Golf individual winner, following Abraham Ancer in Hong Kong and Dean Burmester in Miami.
• Talor Gooch, now playing for Smash GC, returns to defend the Singapore title he won last year in a playoff against Fireballs GC Captain Sergio Garcia.
• The 2023 Singapore playoff is the first of three that Garcia has participated in as a LIV Golf player.
• Defending Singapore team champion RangeGoats GC have two new players this season in Matthew Wolff and Peter Uihlein, who were acquired via offseason trades by captain Bubba Watson.
• Torque GC Captain Joaquin Niemann, a two-time winner this season, enters Singapore as the points leader in the Individual Championship race.
• Crushers GC, captained by Bryson DeChambeau, has won two team titles this season and leads the team points standings.
• LIV Golf Singapore is the last tournament before golf’s next major, the PGA Championship, in which Smash GC Captain Brooks Koepka will enter as the defending champ.

LIV Golf Singapore Course

• The Serapong was ranked 55th in Golf Digest’s World’s 100 Greatest Courses and ranked No. 1 among all Singapore courses.
• The Serapong opened in 1982 and underwent a major renovation in 2006 and then another large renovation in 2020 led by general manager and director of agronomy Andrew Johnston.
• Sentosa hosted the Singapore Open from 2005 to 2022. LIV Golf League members Ian Poulter and Sergio Garcia are past champions, and 17 current LIV golfers have prior experience playing here.
• Sentosa has also hosted eight British Open qualifiers.
• The stretch of holes from hole Nos. 3-7 is known as the Dragon’s Tail.
• The signature hole is the 486-yard par-4 5th, situated in the belly of the Dragon.
• The 444-yard par-4 6th includes a large rock formation known as the Dragon’s Tooth, as well as a false front known as the Dragon’s Tongue.

Next Stop: LIV Golf Houston

After Brooks Koepka‘s defense at Valhalla for the 2024 PGA Championship – the season’s second major, the LIV Golf League will resume its schedule with the inaugural LIV Golf Houston.

Contested at the famed Golf Club of Houston – the former host venue of the PGA Tour’s Houston Open, it will mark LIV Golf’s maiden stop in the Lonestar State.

A Rees Jones design (2002), the lengthy course is framed by pines and Wetland plants with deceptive bunkers and sharply edged greens.

LIV golfers who won the Houston Open on this track include Paul Casey (2009), Anthony Kim (2010), Phil Mickelson (2011), Matt Jones (2014) and Ian Poulter (2018).
