Beau Hossler produced a spectacular round of 8-under 64 on Friday and will enter the weekend in Mississippi with a one-shot lead over Daniel Berger at the Sanderson Farms Championship.

Hossler, who began his second round on the back nine at the Country Club of Jackson, got off to a bogey start on the par-3 10th. After that dropped shot, though, the Texan reeled off five birdies in a seven-hole span (Nos. 11, 12, 13, 15, and 17) to turn on 4 under 32. On his home nine, Hossler added two more birdies and an eagle to reach the marquee on 15 under.

Berger, who struggled for much of the 2024 season, after being sidelined for 19 months with a back injury, posted a bogey-free 65 to secure the second spot on the halftime leaderboard.

Afterwards, Berger was pleased with both his form and health.

“This is probably the first time I can say I’m 100 percent,” said Berger, who is bogey-free through the opening 36-holes for the first time in his career.

“There is always that thought in the back of your head, am I good, can I swing as hard as I want?

“The last couple weeks I felt my best and played a bunch of golf at home with the guys and I am hitting it further and just feeling like myself more.

“That’s kind of translating into what I’m seeing now.”

Keith Mitchell matched Hossler’s low-round 64 to move into joint-third, alongside Jacob Bridgeman (66) and overnight leader David Skinns (71) on 13-under par, one clear of logjam at 12 under, headlined by major winners Lucas Glover (67) and Gary Woodland (68) along with young star Michael Thorbjornsen (69).

Patton Kizzire (68), Eric Cole (67) and Seamus Power (67) headlined another group of players tied on 11-under 133.

Tournament headliner Rickie Fowler carded a 67 to reach 8 under, one clear of Luke List (67), who sat 3 under through 31 holes, and to make the cut needed to post the same 3 under in just five holes. The defending champion did one better: he carded a pair of birdies and an eagle to reach 7 under and make the cut by a full stroke.
