The event at the historic Hong Kong Golf Club in Fanling, marked a breakthrough for the Spanish star after a string of near-misses, including back-to-back runner-up finishes in the season’s first two events.

Rahm opened strongly with rounds of 66 (-4), followed by a blistering 62 (-8) in the second round that showcased his precision and putting prowess. He kept the momentum going with a solid 65 (-5) on Saturday, tying for the lead at 17 under alongside Thomas Detry of 4Aces GC and Harold Varner III of Smash GC entering the final round.

On Sunday, Rahm delivered an epic final-round 64 (-6), carding eight birdies and just two bogeys across the par-70 layout. His steady play, including four birdies on both nines and a pivotal one at the 14th that helped create separation, saw him finish at 23-under par — three strokes clear of runner-up Detry (-20) and four ahead of third-place Thomas Pieters (-19). Varner III finished at -18, and Matt Wolff rounded out the top five at -17.

The win was especially meaningful for Rahm, who described it as “a big weight off my shoulders” and “very relieving” in post-round comments. After consistent excellence but no trophies since LIV Golf Chicago in late 2024, the victory provided a sense of release and reaffirmed his status as one of LIV Golf’s top talents heading into the Masters.

Rahm’s performance highlighted his all-around game: aggressive yet controlled, with exceptional ball-striking and clutch putting on a challenging course. This triumph not only boosts his confidence but positions him strongly as a contender in the majors ahead.
