Michael Brennan, 24, captured his second PGA Tour title by winning the 2026 Wyndham Championship on Sunday at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C., closing with a 6-under 64 to finish at 22-under 258 and beat Beau Hossler by three strokes.
The victory, in the final regular-season event, propelled Brennan from No. 105 in the FedEx Cup standings to No. 47, securing his first appearance in the postseason (which begins this week with the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis). It also earned him a spot in the 2027 Masters. He took home $1.53 million from the $8.5 million purse.
Brennan, a Wake Forest alum competing near his college campus, entered the final round tied for the lead with Hossler at 16-under. He trailed by one early before stringing together five consecutive birdies on hole Nos. 4–8 (all from inside 8 feet), including a near-ace on the par-3 seventh. That surge turned a deficit into a multi-shot lead by the turn.
He absorbed a bogey on the 11th, recovered with a birdie on the 13th, saved par on the 17th after finding rough off the tee, and sealed the win with a 13-foot birdie putt on the 18th.
Hossler, who had led or co-led after the first three rounds and needed a win to reach the playoffs, closed with a 67 for solo second at 19-under but ended up 72nd in the standings. Ben James fired a final-round 61 to finish third at 18-under.
Brennan’s total of 258 matched the tournament scoring record at Sedgefield (previously set three times, most recently by fellow Wake Forest product Cameron Young in 2025). It continued a run of young winners, as he became the third consecutive PGA Tour champion under age 25.
“I don’t want to be done playing golf,” Brennan said afterward, noting strong recent form despite earlier tough Sundays. The playoffs field of 70 will be cut to 50 after Memphis.
