Aaron Baddeley scored 12 points on Friday at Montreux Golf & Country Club and will take a one-shot lead into the weekend at the Barracuda Championship.
Starting on the 10th hole, Baddeley made birdies on the two par 5s (Nos. 13 and 18) to turn with four points. The 37-year old Aussie added six more points with three-consecutive birdies on Nos. 2-4, and a final gain on the par-5 18th to reach a two-day total of 26 points.
“Yeah, it’s a tough day today. The wind was really gusting and gusting in different directions. You really had to wait until it was your turn to hit, pick a club. Because it could be 15 downwind, switch and be 15 straight in to you,” said Baddeley.
“It was just crazy. Played really nicely today. Drove the ball beautifully. It was a good day.”
One point back was overnight leader Ollie Schniederjans, who added eight points to his 17 from Thursday to reach a total of +25.
Andrew Putnam posted a round-best 17 points to reach +23 alongside Sam Saunders (13) and John Merrick (12).

EXIT QUESTION FOR BADDELEY
How special is it top on top of the leaderboard going into the weekend?
AARON BADDELEY: It’s definitely a position to be in. That side of the week, if you say you’re leading through two days, you would take it and sit in the clubhouse.
Definitely exciting to be in that spot. And hopefully we can stay there the rest of the weekend.
