In her last LPGA start, Annika Sorenstam failed to make the weekend at the season-ending ADT Championship. But 12 years later, at the Gainbridge LPGA – in her first tour start since November, 2008, Sorenstam will get to play the weekend rounds.

On Friday, the hall of fame Swede made three birdies down the stretch at Lake Nona Golf and CC to post a 1-under 71, and get in on the number at 2-over par 146.

“I did what I could,” said Sorenstam, who won 72 times on the LPGA. “The goal was to shoot under par and I did, and so that’s all I can do.”

Overnight leader Lydia Ko shot a 69 to reach 10-under par. She will take a one-shot lead into the weekend over Nelly Korda (68). Ryann O’Toole posted her second consecutive 68 and was one further back on 8 under, one clear of In Gee Chun (68).
