Sung Kang carded a third-round 68 on Sunday morning, and will take a three-shot lead over Matt Every into the afternoon’s finale at the AT&T Byron Nelson.
With Saturday’s play delayed due to rain, and eventually suspended by darkness, the 31-year old Korean went out this morning at Trinity Forest to finish up a 3-under par round which included five birdies against two bogeys en route to a three-set score of 19-under par.
In the afternoon’s final group, Kang will be paired with Every (67) and Scott Piercy, who shot a bogey-free 63 to move into a tie for third-place with Brooks Koepka (68) at 14-under par.
Four more players were deadlocked at 13-under par, including Matt Jones (65), Rory Sabbatini (68), Tyler Duncan (70), and Sebastian Munoz (65).
Nicholas Lindheim produced a low-round 62, highlighted by a six-birdie 29 coming in to reach 12-under par, good for T9 alongside Doug Ghim (66) and Shawn Stefani (64).
Local favorite Jordan Spieth carded a second-straight 67 to reach 11-under par. It marks the first time this season that Spieth has posted three opening rounds (68-67-67) under 70.
