The 20-year old Canadian finished her third day at Highland Meadows Golf Club with three bogeys against five birdies, including a late gain on No. 17 to secure the top spot for herself.

“I made some birdies but I made some bogeys. I didn’t hit it how I normally hit it, so I kind of grinded it out as best I could, and that’s good. That’s a good sign when you can still shoot under par and not hit it very well,” said Henderson.

“Just going into tomorrow trying to get back to the way I normally strike it, and hopefully make a lot of birdies.”

One back was veteran Angela Stanford, who rode a hot putter to a second-straight 65 and a three-day score of 10-under par.

“I think that’s kind of what’s kept me in it,” said Stanford, of her putting which produced eight birdies on Saturday.

“I’m seeing the lines pretty well. I didn’t have the speed the first day. I didn’t have it at all. I kind of figured it out the last two days.”

Brittany Lincicome made birdies on Nos. 16 and 17 to sign for a 67, and sit alongside Stanford at 10-under par, one clear of Jacqui Concolino, who birdied No. 18 to card a 69 and reach 9-under par, good for solo-fourth place.

A logjam of 11 players were one further back at 8-under par, including defending champion I.K. Kim, who posted a 2-under-par 69, first-day leader Thidapa Suwannapura (71), Emma Talley (70), In Gee Chun (70), and Mirim Lee (69), among others.

EXIT QUESTION FOR BROOKE HENDERSON

Q: I had the pleasure of watching you play today. How are you able to play this type of golf consistently playing as many events as you do?

BROOKE HENDERSON: Yeah, you know, I love to play a lot of golf. This week things have been clicking for me a little bit better than normal, and I’m just excited to see my name at the top of the leaderboard.

I would have liked to play a little better today, but I’m happy to still be in the top spot and hopefully make a lot of birdies tomorrow.
