Charley Hull‘s putting practice paid off for her in a big way Sunday when she reeled off four birdies on the back nine en route to a 7-under 64 to claim victory at The Ascendant LPGA.
It was Hull’s second career LPGA Tour win, and first since 2016.
The wait was well worth it for the 26-year-old England native, who finished one shot clear of China’s Xiyu Lin (65).
“I found it exciting,” Hull said. “When Janet (Lin) made eagle on 17, I enjoyed that. It made me want to birdie the last. It was great fun.”
She added, “I could have made some more birdies. Hit good putts and just rolled over the edge. I feel very proud of myself.”
Lydia Ko shot 65 to finish third, which moved the New Zealander to the top of the Race to CME Globe standings.
