Mackenzie Hughes shot a final-round 69 to reach 17-under par, and then edged Sepp Straka in a playoff to claim victory at the 2022 Sanderson Farms Championship.
Hughes twice made tough par saves on the closing hole at the Country Club of Jackson, first in regulation from 100 feet behind the green to force a playoff, and then from a tough spot in a bunker to keep the overtime going.
On the third go-round of 18, the second overtime hole, the Canadian hit his approach to eight feet and made the birdie to win his second career PGA Tour title, and first since the 2016 RSM Classic.
Straka (67) narrowly missed his own birdie putt from 18 feet on the fringe to force a third extra hole.
South African Garrick Higgo carded a 68 to finished solo third.
Mark Hubbard (74), who went into the final round with a one-shot lead, struggled to a 74, resulting in a T5 finish.
The final round featured five players who had at least a share of the lead at some point, including Emiliano Grillo, whose round was ruined with a triple bogey on the par-5 14th.
