Wearing mismatched shoes and a Nike Equality hat to promote social injustice, world No. 72 Cameron Champ shot a 7-over 77 in the first round of the BMW Championship and sits T65 after day one at Olympia Fields.

With ‘Papa Champ’ (his grandfather), ‘BLM’ (the Marxist political group), and ‘Breona Taylor’ (a victim of a police shooting) scribbled on his Nike shoes, Champ turned in 35 and appeared in good form. But the burgeoning leftwing activist finished his final seven holes in 7-over par with two doubles and three bogeys en route to the second worst score of the day, ahead of only Marc Leishman (80).

Afterwards, Champ took several questions – none connected to golf, all related to racial/social issues with the most newsworthy item being that he’d considered sitting out to protest the shooting of Jacob Blake – an African American man, who – while resisting arrest – was shot multiple times in the back by a police officer.

“Yeah, I definitely thought about it [boycotting] for sure, but obviously I feel like I can do a lot more playing, and again, showing my support and expressing myself, and I think that’s great for the NBA,” said Champ, who didn’t mention that a boycott would have meant forfeiting a spot in the $60 million Tour Championship.

“I mean, all the guys sticking together, which again, the NBA is — I don’t know the exact numbers, but it’s probably around 90 percent are African Americans, so that’s their whole organization.

“So just to see them come together and talk about it and obviously they ended up they’re going to continue the season, but just to boycott their last few games, again, I think that’s a huge step in all of sports.”

Champ tees off tomorrow at 11:52 am alongside Kevin Kisner and Viktor Hovland.

Update: Following the Republican National Convention, BLM activists terrorized guests exiting the White House, including U.S. Senator Rand Paul.

The Kentucky Senator appeared on FOX News and said he would have been killed if not for police.

They also attacked a gay Trump-supporter named Brandon Straka.

And Vernon Jones, a black Democrat from Georgia, who spoke on behalf of President Trump during the convention.

FOX News personality Dan Bongino and his wife were also harassed. The former Secret Service officer talked about it during his podcast today.

And just a random elderly couple…

And even the D.C. police…

These are Champ’s allies.

  1. “Pro Golf Weekly is a new digital golf publication and website. The magazine is published each Monday, while the website is updated around the clock with the latest news and analysis from all the major professional golf tours.“

I don’t think this article I about golf. It’s about the authors political beliefs and promotes the division that is having an extremely negative effect on our country. I come to this site for golf, peace, and information on people I idolize. Not the left hate, right hate, and dog whistle commentary. Pro Golf Weekly I expected better……

  2. Much respect to Cameron Champ for standing up to centuries of racial injustice. Shame on anyone who turns a blind eye to obvious racism even when it’s played out on television and social media for the world to see.
  3. Your article lacks depth and is obviously slanted. It does nothing to show balance reporting. Balance reporting shows the facts and let the reader decide. You’ve decided who’s who and what their positions are for the reader. It does nothing to improve race relations and that’s obviously your intent. I’ll give you credit for showing who you are.
  4. Paul Daley needs to keep his divisive rhethoric out of golf reporting, as he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He’s obviously an uninformed trumpster.
  5. I would never call this a golf sport article but more of a over emotional and thoughtless rant of a White Privileged Racist who thinks the world of golf, and the world in whole, should be his way or no way. The PGA should step up and support Cameron call out this for what it is, Racism
  6. Yeah so definitely deleting this from my favorites tab. Very tasteless and opposite of the direction golf is trying to go.
