Haotong Li shot a low-round 62, which included a double-bogey and four eagles – three of them hole-outs, to move into a share of the lead with Dustin Johnson at the Saudi International.
The Chinese star added two birdies and 11 pars alongside the aforementioned eagles and double en route to a three-day score of 16-under par.
Johnson, the overnight leader, finished with a 5-under 65 to claim the co-marquee after 54 holes.
Five shots back was Tom Lewis who carded a third-day 62 to sit solo-third on 11 under, two clear of Ryan Fox (67) and Alex Levy (67).
World No. 5 Bryson DeChambeau carded a third-consecutive 68 and was 6 under (T15). The two other American Ryder Cup stars in Saudi Arabia field, Patrick Reed (72) and Brooks Koepka (74), continued to struggle and sit T52 (E) and T61 (+3), respectively.
