Corey Conners shot a final-round 66 to claim his first-ever PGA Tour title at the Valero Texas Open.
The 27-year old Canadian had what can only be described as a rollercoaster of a final round at the TPC San Antonio Oaks Course. He started with birdies on Nos. 1, 3, 4 and 5, followed by four-straight bogeys on Nos. 6-9, and then capped off by six birdies in an eight-hole stretch (Nos. 10-17) to claim a two-shot win on 20-under par.
For the win, the Kent State product earned $1,350,000 and 500 FedExCup points, while also picking up 40 OWGR points. He will move to No. 13 in the FedExCup standings and No. 84 in the world rankings.
Runner-up Charley Hoffman (67) earned $810,000 along with 300 FedExCup points and 24 OWGR points.
