Even “Mother Nature” couldn’t stop Scottie Scheffler.
After Sunday’s weather-delayed round was suspended due to darkness, the 27-year-old Texan returned to Harbour Town Golf Links on Monday morning to finish off a final-round 68.
In the end, Scheffler signed for a tournament-low 19 under, good for a three-shot victory at the RBC Heritage.
The win was Scheffler’s fourth in his last five PGA Tour starts, a run not seen since the days of Tiger Woods around the turn of the century.
For the historic victory, Scheffler received the famous “Heritage Plaid” tartan jacket, the “Sir William Innes” Champions Trophy, and a check for $3.6 million (along with 700 FedEx Cup points).

When asked to describe his evolution as a player, Scheffler said, “I’m not really sure. I think I’m just maturing as a person on the course. I think mentally the last month or so has been as good as I’ve been in a long time.
“I think that’s why I’m seeing some of the results just staying in it doing the best I can. A lot easier said than done, but I’m proud of how I’ve been mentally on the course.”
Sahith Theegala (68) secured a solo second-place finish on 16 under. The 26-year-old Pepperdine product took home a check for $2.16 million.
Wyndham Clark (65) and Patrick Cantlay (68) finished tied for third on 15 under. Each received a check for $1.16 million.
