With a Sunday round of 62 at Sedgefield Country Club, J.T. Poston claimed his maiden PGA Tour title at the Wyndham Championship, the regular season’s final stop.
The 26-year old North Carolina native signed off on his fourth-straight bogey-free card – this one comprised of eight birdies and 10 pars to finish at 22-under par, one clear of runner-up Webb Simpson, who shot a 65 to reach 21-under par.
Along with the Sam Snead Cup, Poston earned $1,116,000 and 500 FedExCup points, while also picking up 44 OWGR points. He will move inside the all-important top 30 in the FedExCup standings, while also cracking the top 100 (No. 77) in the world rankings for the first time in his career.
Runner-up Simpson earned $669,600 along with 300 FedExCup and 26.4 OWGR points. It was Simpson’s third runner-up in his five most recent starts. He will move up to No. 13 (from 17th) in the Official World Golf Rankings.
