Xander Schauffele carded a Sunday round of 68 and then took down 54-hole leader Tony Finau in overtime to claim his third career PGA Tour title at the WGC-HSBC Champions.

Schauffele, who entered the final day down three shots to Finau, finished his final day in Shanghai – including overtime, with two bogeys offset by seven birdies, highlighted by three-straight gains on Nos. 17 and 18 (and 18 again) en route to a 14-under par total and playoff victory.

In his third start of the 2018-19 season, the San Diego State product earned $1,700,000 and 550 FedExCup points, which moves him into the top spot in both the money race and points standings. Schauffele also picked up 66 Official World Golf Rankings points and is projected to land somewhere around 12-13 when the new OWGR list is released on Monday.
