Joaquin Niemann produced a final-round 71 to claim a wire-to-wire victory at the 2022 Genesis Invitational.
The 23-year-old Chilean finished his final day at Riviera Country Club with three bogeys against one birdie and what was essentially a victory-clinching eagle on No. 11 to reach 19-under par, two clear of Collin Morikawa (65) and Cameron Young (70).
Niemann earned a whopping $2,160,000 and 550 FedExCup points, which moves him to No. 4 on the tour’s money list and No. 7 in the points standings.
He also picked up 72 Official World Golf Rankings points and will move to No. 20 (from 32) – the first time he’s cracked the top 20.
Runners-up Morikawa and Young each took home a check for $1,068,000 along with 258 FedEx Cup points and 36 OWGR points.
