Justin Thomas appears close to signing a deal with boutique clothier Greyson, according to those who track and report on golf apparel.

Former world No. 1 Luke Donald seems to have moved the ball in this direction when he tweeted congratulations to Thomas after his big win at The PLAYERS.

Donald, who is a brand ambassador for Greyson, also mentioned (with an emoji wink) JT’s “nice outfit,” which many fans assumed was a Ralph Lauren script without the logo.

“Congrats Justin Thomas, those draws off the tee on 16 and 18 were something nice… as was your outfit,” wrote Donald, who interestingly came to Greyson from Ralph Lauren.

On Monday, Trendy Golf, an online retailer, and an authoritative voice in the golf styles space, posted another hint to its Instagram account.

“Congratulations Justin Thomas on the W at The Players Championship. Who else recognises the threads JT has been wearing the last few weeks?” read Trendy Golf’s IG post.

The sharp-looking shirt Thomas was wearing as he was striping his Titleist all over the iconic Stadium course on Sunday, was what Greyson calls the Batweb Golf Polo:

“Constructed from a blend of polyester and spandex for ultimate stretch and breathability. Features a four-button placket and rib-knit cuffs at the hem of the sleeves for added comfort and style,” reads the description of the polo, listed for $55 at Greyson’s online store. The apparel worn by Thomas is being promoted at the top its site, with a link that reads: FIT FOR A CHAMPION.

As an aside: Those who thought Thomas was wearing a logo-less Ralph Lauren script on Sunday, shouldn’t feel bad. The founder of Greyson was previously the former head of design at Ralph Lauren, and was in that position when they signed Thomas to his original deal in 2015.

Trendy Golf’s bio page of Greyson:

Greyson was founded by Charlie Schaefer, previous SVP of design at Ralph Lauren. After 13 years of design experience from Ralph Lauren, Charlie parted ways to take on his biggest dream – the creation of his own label. Since then, Greyson has redefined golf and activewear by creating components that are both fashionable and technical.

Following up on the Thomas to Greyson rumors, GolfMagic.com reported that the startup firm was the heavy favorite to land the world No. 2, based on odds provided by the website TheseAreTheOdds.com.

“Justin Thomas is now EVEN to sign a new apparel deal with Greyson Clothiers after sporting the brand’s Bat Web Polo shirt to victory at The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass, according to TheseAreTheOdds.com,” wrote Andy Roberts of GolfMagic.

TheseAreTheOdds.com, a new website which “helps provide sports fans with insight and information on the latest sports news, odds and stats,” has listed Greyson as the favorite to sign Thomas.

Odds To Sign Justin Thomas to Apparel Deal
  • Greyson Clothiers – EVEN
  • Nike – 5/1
  • Castore – 8/1
  • Lacoste – 10/1
  • Hugo Boss – 10/1
  • Under Armour – 12/1
  • Adidas – 15/1

One of the world’s best golfers, Thomas is also considered one its best dressed. Signing up Thomas would be a massive score for Schaefer’s young brand.

This is a developing story and will be updated…
