The JM Eagle L.A. Championship may have a short history, with just four editions in total, but Hannah Green owns a lot of that history, including three of the first four titles.

Playing alongside Sei Young Kim, who dominated early, Green trailed by six shots after a chip-in eagle by Kim on 11.

“I honestly didn’t think I was in the tournament still,” said Green. “I was just like, `Oh, well just go for as many pins as possible.′”

From there, the Aussie ignited one of the season’s greatest comebacks: her own birdie on 11 to cut the deficit to five, quickly followed by four consecutive gains on Nos. 13, 14, 15 and 16 en route to a final-day 4-under 68 to punch her ticket into the playoff, alongside Kim (70) and Jin Hee Im (67).

“Got on a nice stretch there,” said Green. “I kind of thought the putt that I missed on 16 was the crucial moment. I mean, I’m just fortunate enough that I at least got into the playoff.”

All three players finished regulation tied at 17-under 271.

In overtime, playing the par-4 18th again, Green hit a wedge from 130 yards and then made a nifty right-to-left birdie putt to claim victory. Kim and Im each made par.

“I had that putt, obviously very similar line in regulation, so I felt somewhat comfortable,” said Green. “It still was a tough putt, so really glad it went in the hole.”

Green won the event in both 2023 and 2024 at Wilshire Country Club, located in L.A. In 2025, the event moved to El Caballero in Tarzana, a northern suburb of Los Angeles.

The 29-year-old Australian star joined Hyo Joo Kim as the only two-time LPGA winners this season, pushing her career Tour victories to eight. Green also claimed the Women’s Australian Open and Australian WPGA, bringing her 2026 worldwide total to four.

The Chevron Championship, the first LPGA major of the year, will tee off on Thursday in Houston.
