Sam Horsfield and Sebastian Garcia Rodriguez posted 64s and will enter Friday’s second round of the BMW International Open with a one shot lead.
England’s Horsfield finished with a bogey-free scorecard which included six birdies and one eagle to reach 8-under par, alongside the Spaniard whose round included two eagles and seven birdies against three bogeys.
Japan’s Masahiro Kawamura, Irishman Niall Kearney, and Aussie Wade Ormsby were tied for third on 7-under 65.
A third Englishman, Andrew Johnston, headlined a group of five more players deadlocked on 6-under par.
Tournament headliners, Bernd Wiesberger (67) and Viktor Hovland (68), were three and four off the pace, respectively.
