Jhonattan Vegas made birdie on the final hole to post 70 and claim a one-shot victory over Max Greyserman at the 3M Open.
The 38-year-old Venezuelan finished at 17-under 267 at TPC Twin Cities. The win was Vegas’ fourth of his PGA Tour career and first in seven years, when he successfully defended his Canadian Open title in 2017.
“We’re just trying to have a great week and obviously a great week turned into a win. I’m out of my head right now, so it’s incredible,” said Vegas.
Vegas had been playing on a major medical extension after being limited to seven starts in 2023 due to right elbow and shoulder surgeries.
“I felt it right away on the first hole,” Vegas said of the complications during recovery. “It was a nightmare, but luckily stayed calm and I was able to play pretty solid and not make huge mistakes.”
He added, “Nothing feels better than this.”
Greyserman finished with an 8-under 63 to clinch solo second on 16 under.
Maverick McNealy (70) and Matt Kuchar (71) shared third-place on 14 under.
Taylor Pendrith (67), the leader at halftime, was solo fifth on 14 under, one ahead of Kurt Kitayama (66), Patrick Fishburn (70) and Sahith Theegala (70) who tied for sixth.
