Jon Rahm produced a final-round 67 to claim his maiden LIV Golf title by one stroke at the LIV United Kingdom in Rocester, England.

Rahm’s victory was clinched when teammate Tyrrell Hatton missed a 6-foot par putt on No. 18 that would have forced a playoff.

Rahm finished with a 13-under 271 at JCB Golf and Country Club. The Spaniard’s round was highlighted by birdies. The win was the Spaniard’s first sine the 2023 Masters.

“Well, first of all, I’ve got to give Tyrrell a lot of credit, too,” Rahm said. “He’s a fantastic player, and you never want to see it end like that. I almost wish we would have got it done in the playoff.”

Hatton settled for a 69 to finish in a three-way tie for second on 12 under, alongside Joaquin Niemann (65) and Cameron Smith (69).

Rahm’s Legion XIII squad won the team portion of the tournament with a 26 under. It was the fourth win of the year for Rahm’s group which also includes Hatton, Caleb Surratt (70) and Kieran Vincent (72).

“I said early on, I tried to set the tone to the team and just make it clear that the goal is to win, and I’m just glad that we’re getting it done,” Rahm said.

Smith’s all-Australia Ripper GC finished second at 23 under. Matt Jones (67), Lucas Herbert (66) and Wade Ormsby (71) assisted in the scoring.

Brooks Koepka‘s Crushers GC and Bryson DeChambeau‘s Smash GC tied for third on 20 under.
