Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said his department would not file charges against Tiger Woods pertaining to the crash near the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes, about 30 miles south of downtown Los Angeles.

Villanueva said the department is considering it an “purely an accident.”

“The deputy assessed the condition of Tiger Woods, and there was no evidence of any impairment whatsoever,” said Villanueva during an Instagram Live.

“He was lucid, no odor of alcohol, no evidence of any medication, narcotics, or anything that would bring that into question. So that was not a concern… This is what it is, purely an accident.”

On Tuesday, CNN falsely reported that Woods was intoxicated.
