Lilia Vu closed with a 4-under 66 to claim her fourth victory of 2023 at The Annika.

Vu, who entered Sunday’s finale at the Pelican Golf Club three shots back of Emily Kristine Pedersen, opened with three birdies in six holes and then pulled away with back-to-back birdies to run away with the title.

The win returned the American to the No. 1 spot in the race for the LPGA Player of the Year award.

Vu came into the tournament three points behind another four-time winner, Celine Boutier, in the race for the points-based LPGA player of the year. Boutier missed the cut this weekend, giving Vu a 27-point advantage ahead of the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship.

Boutier needs to win next week and hope Vu finishes eighth or worse.
