LPGA Major Winner Patty Tavatanakit Talks About the “Amazing” New Pro V1x Golf Ball

Two weeks ago, Patty Tavatanakit won the ANA Inspiration, the LPGA’s first major of the season, shooting a bogey-free final-round 68 at the iconic Mission Hills to claim a two-shot victory.

The 21-year old Thai won her first LPGA major title playing a Titleist Pro V1x, and in this video Tavatanakit explains why she really likes Titleist’s all-new Pro V1x.

“I used the Pro V1x to execute a lot of shots last week,” said Tavatanakit, who went to school at UCLA. “Especially, I could hit it high with an appropriate amount of spin off the tee, and I could also spin it around the greens pretty well.

“With the clubhead speed I have, people ask why I don’t use the Pro V1 instead of the Pro V1x. It’s because the amount of spin I get out of this ball is amazing.”

She continued, “My favorite shot of the week was probably No. 15 (par-4) on the third day. I actually was in the rough, and I hit a 50 degree wedge really high up in the air and this ball – this particular ball [holding ball] – spun on the green, which left me with a 12-15 footer for birdie.

“I really like this ball and it’s been amazing for me. So thank you.”
