Money Report: Spieth Becomes Fourth Player To Clear $2M

Jordan Spieth

With both Hideki Matsuyama and Justin Thomas sitting out of the Pebble Beach event, the top 2 remain stable, with Matsuyama holding a $500k lead on Thomas.

However, with the win in California, Jordan Spieth moves into the top-3, leapfrogging Pat Perez (barely) for the 3rd spot. Spieth, who has played 4 events to Perez’s 8 is up only $9,500.

Spieth Breaks $1M & 2M Mark

Spieth took home a check for $1,296,000 for his win at Pebble Beach – his 9th on the PGA Tour.

The 23-year-old superstar from Texas entered Pebble with nearly $1M in earnings, but not quite ($947K) – thanks to three top-10s in his only 3 events.

So the win bumped Spieth well into the $2M club, but also produced one more member of the $1M club (15 now).
