Nelly Korda produced a final-round 4-under 68 to claim her maiden major title at the 2021 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.
Korda, the overnight leader co-leader, signed for a card which included one bogey offset by two birdies and two eagles to reach 19-under par.
“I think I blacked out a little,” said Korda, who moved to world No. 1. “I don’t know, I mean, I’ve put in a lot of work, and to finally get a win, or two wins under my belt — or three wins, sorry, three wins under my belt this year, and to get a major championship.
“I don’t even have words, honestly.”
She added, “I mean, honestly, this is something that I’ve worked for since I was 14, since I played in my first one.
“I wanted to be a major champion, and to finally get it done here in Atlanta with such an amazing crowd, honestly, it’s really special.”
Runner-up Lizette Salas carded a 71 with two birdies and one bogey to finish 16 under.
Hyo Joo Kim (68) and Giulia Molinaro (72) were T3 on 10 under, two clear of Danielle Kang (67) and Patty Tavatanakit (74).
Austin Ernst (70) and Celine Boutier (75) were then 7 under.
