One week down. 40-something to go.
After kicking off its 2017-18 season in northern California, the PGA Tour takes its traveling golf circus overseas for a three-tournament Asian Swing.
The first stop in Asia is the CIMB Classic in Malaysia where the newly-minted player of the year Justin Thomas will seek a three-peat at TPC Kuala Lumpur.
And the 24-year-old Kentucky native is a strong favorite to take home CIMB title No. 3, as bookmakers have Thomas listed at 4-1.
Only Japanese superstar Hideki Matsuyama (9-1) has been given better than 10-1 odds. In fact, Englishman Paul Casey (12-1) is the only other player with odds under 25-1.
Ian Poulter, Xander Schauffele, Anirban Lahiri, Charl Schwartzel, and Safeway champ Brendan Steele are all at 25-1. No one else in the field has better than 30-1 odds.
