It’s hard to believe, but a new PGA Tour season is upon us. The never-ending Tour moves from the 2016-17 season to the 2017-18 season without even a one-week breather.
As with anything involving the the Tour, follow the money.
And speaking of dough, if you’re going to watch a run-of-the-mill event like the Safeway Open, you may as well put some cash on it.
Let’s take a look at the odds for the first tournament of the new Tour season at Silverado Resort and Spa.
Tony Finau, one of the break out stars of last season, is the slight favorite in Napa Valley at 12-1. Phil Mickelson (15-1) and Webb Simpson (16-1) are the only other players with better than 20-1 odds.
Veterans Bill Haas and Zach Johnson are at 25-1 while defending champ Brendan Steele and Kevin Na are listed at 28-1. No one else in the field has better than 30-1 odds.
