Update: Justin Thomas wins his 11th PGA Tour title at the CJ Cup…
Justin Thomas entered Sunday’s finale of the BMW Championship with a six-shot lead, but after a slow start (two birdies against two bogeys) his lead had been trimmed to just two shots, as playing partner Patrick Cantlay reeled off four-straight birdies on hole Nos. 7-10.
Thomas, however, righted the ship, and finished his final eight holes at Medinah cleanly with four clutch birdies to sign for a 4-under 68, and a four-day total of 25-under par, three clear of runner-up Cantlay.
The win was Thomas’ first of the season, and 10th of his still-young PGA Tour career. He becomes just the fifth PGA Tour player to win 10 titles by the age of 26, joining Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Jordan Spieth, and Rory McIlroy.
