Patrick Reed won the Masters on Sunday at Augusta National, and afterwards got a congratulatory tweet from the President of the United States.
President Trump tweeted, “Congratulations to Patrick Reed on his great and courageous MASTERS win! When Patrick had his amazing win at Doral 5 years ago, people saw his great talent, and a bright future ahead. Now he is the Masters Champion!”

Reed’s win at Doral in 2014 (WGC-Cadillac Championship) is where he famously boasted about being a top-5 player in the world. Ironically, it was Rory McIlroy who mocked Reed for making that statement a month later at Augusta National.
