The PURE Insurance Championship is an annual tournament on the Champions Tour. Contested at Pebble Beach Golf Links, it first debuted on the senior circuit’s schedule in 2004 as The First Tee Open at Pebble Beach presented by Wal-Mart. The inaugural winner was Craig Stadler, who posted a three-day score of 15-under par to win by three strokes.

Following Wal mart’s six-edition sponsorship, Home Care & Hospice took the title role for one year (2010) with Nature Valley signing on for its own a six-year run as the marquee name (2011 to 2016). PURE insurance has been the title holder since the 2017 edition.

Aside from a two-year stretch (2011, 2012), the tournament has been contested in the late August/early September timeframe at the Pebble Beach Golf Links. The First Tee of Monterey County has been the tournament’s main charity since its inception.

Jeff Sluman (3) and Kirk Triplett have won multiple titles, while Hall of Famers Hale Irwin and Bernhard Langer are the biggest names to own a W.
