Shotlink is the PGA Tour technology that records shots from each player during a tournament, in real time, allowing for shots to be analyzed and viewed instantly through various platform apps (i.e. online, TV).
The vision of the system, according to the PGA Tour, is to: “Turn data into information, information into knowledge, and knowledge into entertainment.”
This video from Tour partner Skratch provides a nice little backgrounder on the Shotlink technology, and its history.

Exit comment: You have to admire the chutzpah of the PGA Tour, a billion dollar enterprise, using “volunteers” as part of Shotlink’s data gathering process. At least they recognized them as their “most important asset.”
