Tiger Woods will be making his long awaited return to the PGA Tour when he tees it up this week at Torrey Pines in the Farmer’s Insurance Open.
It will be the first Tour start for Woods since August of 2015 when he played in the Wyndham Championship in a last-ditch attempt to make the FedEx Cup playoffs.
The former world #1 got his comeback rolling by playing in the (unofficial) Hero World Challenge in December, an event hosted by Woods himself.
Woods, a 6-time winner of this event, will highlight what looks to be a loaded field, which includes 4 players inside the world top-10 (Jason Day 1, Dustin Johnson 3, Hideki Matsuyama 6, and Patrick Reed 9).
The field at Torrey Pines will also have 8 (of 12) members of the winning U.S. Ryder Cup team at Hazeltine: J.B Holmes, Brandt Snedker, Phil Mickelson, Jimmy Walker, Rickie Fowler, Brooks Koepka, Reed, and D. Johnson. Other marquee names include Olympic Gold medalist Justin Rose, PGA Tour Rookie of the Year Emiliano Grillo, and Paul Casey (World No. 16).
