Last week, Jon Rahm announced he was backing out of TGL, the virtual indoor golf league, it engulfed long-simmering rumors that the reigning Masters champion was heading to the LIV Golf league.
Rory McIlroy is not buying the rumor.
In a scrum with reporters in Boston while promoting his TGL team, Boston Common, on Monday, the 35-year-old Northern Irishman felt confident Rahm will remain with the PGA Tour.
“I spoke to Jon a couple days ago and would be very, very surprised if that were to happen,” said McIlroy.
“I’m pretty confident Jon is a PGA Tour player.”
