Scott Parel shot a 6-under 66 on Friday and will take a one-shot lead into the weekend at the Constellation Senior Players Championship.
Parel finished his second day at Exmoor Country Club with six birdies against one bogey en route to a two-day score of 11-under par.
“I putted well today. I actually — I didn’t hit the ball nearly as well today as I did yesterday,” said Parel, who ranks fifth in the field in PP/GIR.
“My driver was a little bit off target for me, but I got some lucky breaks. That’s what it takes.”
Brandt Jobe and Jeff Maggert were T2 and one back at 10-under par following rounds of 67 and 68, respectively.
A group of six players were one further back at 9-under par, headlined by round-one co-leader Kenny Perry (70), defending champion Scott McCarron (68), three-time tournament winner Bernhard Langer (67), and Hall of Famer Vijay Singh (67).
Mike Small, who co-led day one with Perry, was 8-under par following a second-day 71. He sat T11 alongside Kevin Sutherland (65).

EXIT QUESTION FOR SCOTT PAREL
Q: Seeing yourselfrself at the top of the leaderboard right now, how does that feel?
SCOTT PAREL: Well, we’ve got two days left, and I’d be surprised if it’s leading when everybody is done today anyway. You know, I think if the conditions stay the same, you’re going to have to shoot the same kind of scores that I’ve shot the last two days to have a chance to win.
The course is in perfect shape. The greens are perfect, makeable speed and smooth. So guys are going to make a lot of birdies out here.
