Third-round leader Sei Young Kim struggled to a 3-over par 75 on Sunday at Lake Merced Golf Club, but prevailed in overtime to claim victory at the 2019 LPGA Mediheal Championship.
Kim entered Sunday’s finale with a three-shot lead but after a double bogey-bogey start her advantage was gone. She played her final 16 holes to even-par, highlighted by a final-hole birdie which got her into a playoff with Bronte Law (65) and Jeongeun Lee (67).
On the first sudden-death hole – the par-5 18th, after Law and Lee made par, Kim carded a birdie to secure her eighth career LPGA victory.
