Sergio Garcia shot a second-round 66 at Sedgefield Country Club and sits T4 after 36 holes of play at the Wyndham Championship. More importantly, the 38-year old Spaniard is projected to qualify for the FedExCup Playoffs for the 12th straight season.

Garcia, who has been ice cold since his Masters meltdown, entered the week at No. 131 in the FedExCup standings, and in danger of missing the playoffs for the first time in his career.

But after opening with rounds of 66 and 65, coupled with all six players who held spots 122-127 missing the cut, Garcia is now projected to move to No. 118 in the standings. (Although, this is only a projection after two rounds. He could fall back outside the top 125 with a bad round or two.)

Garcia is one of only 13 players to qualify for the Playoffs in each season of FedExCup era (since 2007).

As the final event of the PGA Tour’s 2018 season, the Wyndham Championship is the last chance for players to gain a spot (and/or lose their spot) in the Northern Trust field – the first leg of the playoffs.
