Stats Focus: Rory McIlroy, Closing Strong

The data says that Rory McIlroy is a strong finisher. Okay, he might have blown a 4 shot lead at The Master, back in 2012, but he did come back with a vengeance and broke several scoring records at the US Open that same year.

Even going back to his first win on the PGA Tour, at the 2010 Quail Hollow Championship, he finished with an impressive 62.

His Scoring Averages in 2016 speaks a similar story. At the Dubai Desert Classic, the Northern Ireland native, finished with a 65 and a T6. While at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the 27 year-old closed with a  65 to tie for 27th. And, finally, at the Wells Fargo Championship, McIlroy carded a  68 to finish T4.
