Britain & Ireland emerged victorious in the Team Cup, defeating Continental Europe with a final score of 17-8.

The DP World Tour event, contested at the Abu Dhabi Golf Resort, provided valuable match-play experience for European players ahead of the Ryder Cup in New York later this year.

Justin Rose was the captain of Team Britain & Ireland. His team won five of the first six matches, with Tyrrell Hatton beating Thorbjorn Olesen 3 and 1, Rose beating Julien Guerrier 3 and 2, and Paul Waring beating Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen 4 and 3.

“I have loved the challenge and the experience,” Rose said, “and the lads have made me look incredibly good at it.”

Tommy Fleetwood was instrumental in securing the clinching point for Britain & Ireland, which had taken an 11-4 lead into the final day’s singles matches.

The victory marks a significant turnaround from the previous event when Continental Europe won under the name Hero Cup in 2023.
