The first leg of the 2020 FedExCup Playoffs gets under way tomorrow morning at TPC Boston with the 54th edition of The Northern Trust.

Teeing it up this week in the Baystate will be a field of the top 125 players in the FedExCup standings, including 29 of the top 30 in the Official World Golf Rankings, headlined by a bevy of former Boston winners including world No. 2 Justin Thomas, No. 3 Rory McIlroy, and 15-time major champion Tiger Woods, among others.

With pairings based on FedExCup standings (Nos. 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, and so on), the strongest threesome, and most accomplished, of the tournament’s featured pairings will have three-time 2020 winner Thomas (FedExCup No. 1) joined by a pair of two-time winners in newly-minted PGA Champion Collin Morikawa (No. 2), and Webb Simpson (No. 3), who – like Thomas, is also a former winner in Boston.

The other featured morning pairing is anchored by Woods (No. 49), who won here in 2006.

Four top-10 ranked stars will headline the afternoon’s featured groupings, including world Nos. 1 Jon Rahm, 7 Bryson DeChambeau, 8 Patrick Reed, and 10 Xander Schauffele.
